What is MIPDOC
MIPDoc is a sub-event of the MIPTV trade show that focuses on the documentary content industry. It takes place annually in Cannes, France, and provides a platform for documentary content creators, producers, and distributors to showcase their work, network with others in the industry, and explore new business opportunities.
MIPDoc features a wide range of programming, including factual and current affairs content, as well as historical and cultural documentaries. The event attracts a large number of industry professionals and decision-makers from around the world and is considered a key event in the international documentary content calendar.
Eligibility
The annual MIPDoc Project Pitch is open to all creators and producers seeking to develop factual and documentary projects with co-production partners.
To qualify, submitted projects must be:
- factual and documentary series / one-off still looking for financing :
- Early Stage (0 to 25% financed)
- In Development (25 to 75% financed)
- in its first season (returning seasons are not eligible)
- never pitched before at a festival/market or to buyers prior to MIPTV
Competitors are narrowed to five finalists, who are then given the opportunity to pitch their most compelling new projects live to a jury of international decision-makers.

How many projects can I submit?
You can submit up to 3 projects to the MIPDoc Project Pitch
What is the selection process?
The MIPDoc Project Pitch is managed by RX France, submitted projects will be reviewed by an international Jury of Buyers and Commissioners.
Five Finalists will be selected to pitch their project on the MIPTV stage in Cannes.
What will happen on stage if I am selected as a finalist?
The live Pitch language is English.
Each finalist will have 5 minutes to pitch (including a video – we recommend a maximum duration of 90”) and 3 minutes for a Q&A session with the jury to discuss further the format and potential of their project.
After the pitches, the jury will leave the stage for deliberation to choose the best project.
During this deliberation, the finalists will come back on stage to interact with the audience for a live Q&A.
